Which packet would you choose? I ask this because one bag is seen as ‘good’ …

Which packet would you choose? I ask this because one bag is seen as ‘good’ and the other as ‘bad’. So let’s discuss the key nutritional differences between these two packets of crisps (or chips for my American friends 😆). – – 1⃣ The packet on the left contains crisps made from sweet potato and beetroot making them ‘vegetable’ crisps. The packet on the right contains crisps made from potatoes, also making them botanically speaking, vegetable crisps. So no real differences yet… 🙄 – – 2⃣ For all of you who already know a bit about nutrition, you’ll be saying, “ah Graeme, the FIBRE in the vegetable crisps will fill somebody up for longer compared to the regular crisps”. Well, the veg crisps have 2.5g of fiber per 25g pack. The regular crisps have 0.85g of fiber per pack. Hardly a significant difference. 🤓 3⃣ Even for those believing the macros are more favorable in the veg crisps, both packets are virtually the same in terms of protein, carbs and fat splits. 😛 – 4⃣ Finally, the most important thing you should consider if your goal is fat loss… is calories. These two packets are identical (pretty much) in calories. So in this respect, you aren’t making a better choice by choosing the vegetable crisps on the left or the regular crisps on the right. – My advice? Get to grips with the big picture to make sure you’re in an achievable calorie deficit and eat a balanced diet along the way. And yes, that includes the odd bag of crisps from time to time if you enjoy them. 💪 – Sure, a small amount of beetroot and sweet potato will have marginally more nutrients in there than potatoes. But be confident your overall diet is sufficient in those regardless. Therefore this choice is a choice for the soul… – So, which bag would you choose? Personally I’d choose the veg crisps because they’ll probably have more flavour than the ready salted pack. But that’s my only rationale. 🤘 – – – #crisps #calories #healthycrisps #caloriecounting #thefitnesschef #absolutefit #kettlechips #walkers #iifym #fatloss #fatlosscoach #potatochips #snack #infographic #foodgraphy
